Why Choose Jr Mariners
Academics, Student Life, Rink and Coaching Staff.
01
Academic
The high school years are a pivotal point in a student-athlete's life. The Maine Jr Mariners Academy is an innovative way to incorporate the pursuit of hockey development along with achieving academic success. Whether in pursuit of future NCAA opportunities in the classroom, or on the ice, it is imperative that the emphasis is applied to individual development during these formidable years.
Our Academy's model is to provide an environment that eliminates the time, logistics, and frustration association with balancing hockey training, and educational advancement. Our goal is to encourage, to support and partner with our students in order to develop their mental, physical, athletic and scholastic development.
02
Teams
The Maine Jr. Mariners 18U AAA(National Bound) team will play in the Beast League, Elite Prospect Cup and United Tier 1 Hockey League. All three leagues are premier midget leagues in North America and play the best competition. The 18U AAA(National Bound) team is owned and operated by the Maine Jr. Mariners LLC.. We will be working in tandem with multiple NAHL and EHL teams to offer players the chance for in-season promotions that very few teams can complete with.
03
Student Life
As a student-athlete at Maine Jr. Mariner Academy, our students reside in St. Joseph's College dorm facilities, attend VLACS Virtual Learning Academy Charter Schools or take level 100 classes at St. Josephs College to keep you NCAA eligible, and train and practice up to five times a week. You also have the opportunity to continue with any schooling you may be currently enrolled in. By providing all of these vital components within one program plus having current NCAA Hockey coaches on staff eliminates the hurdles associated with NCAA eligibility, long drive times to practice, late study hours, homeschooling options, or living without familiar billets.
04
Rink
The Biddeford Ice Arena is home to the Maine Jr. Mariners. The rink is also home to two local High School teams Thorton Academy & Biddeford High School. There is a lounge with a restaurant for your student athlete before and after practice.
