Michel Léveillé
Skills Coach
Léveillé's journey in the hockey world is a compelling narrative of perseverance, growth, and transition. His late entry into high-level junior hockey didn't deter him from making a significant impact when he finally did. His explosive point totals in his final junior season with the Nanaimo Clippers showcased his potential and talent, setting the stage for what was to come.
Transitioning to senior hockey and then making his mark as a freshman at Maine, Léveillé quickly proved his worth. His nearly point-per-game performance and the honor of being named Hockey East Rookie of the Year underscored his skill and determination. The team's success in finishing second in the conference and capturing the Hockey East Championship, with Léveillé's pivotal goal in the NCAA Tournament, demonstrated his ability to rise to important moments and contribute to the team's victories.
As he continued to progress through his college career, Léveillé's leadership qualities became increasingly evident, earning him the role of alternate captain as a remarkably seasoned sophomore player. His increased goal production in his second year reflected his growing influence on the ice, even as the team's overall performance experienced fluctuations.
The subsequent seasons saw Léveillé's contributions reaching new heights. His status as a key player was cemented with All-American honors and his captaincy in his final year. The team's recurring appearances in the Frozen Four and Léveillé's consistent impact reflected his ability to lead and perform at the highest levels of collegiate ice hockey.
Following his collegiate career, the transition to professional hockey presented challenges for Léveillé. Navigating between the AHL and ECHL, and later seeking opportunities in international leagues, showcased his resilience and adaptability. Even as he explored international options, Léveillé's commitment to the game remained evident, ultimately culminating in his return to his roots in Maine as a coach for the Maine Wild.
Léveillé's coaching journey not only reflects his ongoing passion for the sport but also highlights his determination to give back to the hockey community.
